NOW.. Century 21 Productions Presents The OPUS 1975 Top 100 Countdown
with Larry McKay.
OPUS 1975 Top 100 Countdown with Larry McKay. According to Century 21’s executive producer Dick Starr, OPUS countdowns aired from 1970 through 1981. I remember my local station, AM 1490 WOLF Syracuse as one of the 50 stations that aired the 8 hour countdown beginning in 1974 through 1980. Host Larry McKay was employed at top 40 rocker AM 930 KHJ in Los Angeles.
Can anyone remember the OPUS countdowns and any of the syndicated 50 stations that carried it ?? Post it on the Radio Timeline Facebook group page. Thanks!
#100 – #51 (40:17)
#50 – #1 (48:23)

AM 1490 WOLF Syracuse, Top 100 of 1972 with Howie Castle (31:42)
This was my very first original recording from on December 31, 1972 when I was 15 years old in Liverpool, NY. Unfortunately most of the jingles and all commercials were left out. Howie’s first radio gig in the 1960’s was on Radio Caroline then moved to Syracuse’s AM 1260 WNDR in 1968 and AM 1490 WOLF in early 1969 as WOLF changed format from country to The very successful Top 40 (KHJ) DRAKE Radio Format with 20/20 news.
