June 16, 2008
proved to be a very active Thunderstorm Day in Upstate New
York. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Box #550 went into effect on
June 16 before Noon. Shortly after the first storms fired
Southeast of Syracuse as more fired along the Lake Ontario
Shore line, inland from Buffalo and east to Rochester.

First local storm formed north
of Cicero, NY. Afterwards it produced a 20 minute rainbow,
Storm moved east into Lewis County, NY, north of Rome. (see
above RADAR, GPS Rings show my location).

The previous mentioned severe
storms that formed in Western New York entered Wayne County,
NY, east of Rochester and produced Golf Ball Size Hail in
Wayne County near the town of Alton. Crops and building damage
occurred and that area was later declared a disaster area. In
Cayuga County, the severe cell began to rotate and a hook echo
was detected on Doppler RADAR. Also seen in this photo at 2:10
pm...

Shortly after, Binghamton NWS
issued a Tornado Warning for Onondaga County, NY (Syracuse
Area) until 3:00 pm.

of Thundershowers running east along the Lake's North
Shore from Oshawa to Kingston, Ontario Province 80 miles
across Lake Ontario. Occasional Lightning discharges,
